western maryland and some of the other radars are indicating that just a few of those are touching the ground. so it's possible there will be a light shower. most of the rain will hold off until the evening commute and during the nighttime hours tonight as this little piece of energy, see it out into central ohio and eastern kentucky, that will move through here late today and tonight and that will give us a chance of showers. and another piece of energy will come through tomorrow and give us an even better chance of -- we need the rain around here even though we got some on saturday, more needed showers and thunderstorms tomorrow. upper 80 -- 80s to about 90. muggy and showers in the forecast for the day tomorrow. much nicer by wednesday, thursday and friday. hot with highs back in the mid- 90s. >> so a hot week. not 100-degrees but hot. >> certainly more than normal. >>> let's look at traffic with julie wright. >> not so bad if you're traveling in either direction at the wilson bridge with the lanes open. inbound route 50, two pickup trucks stopped, causing rubbernecking there. north

customers in the dark, majority are in northern virginia and in maryland, bge has more than 35,000 outages at this time. fox 5's sarah simmons joins us live from rockville with more. sarah. >> reporter: well, tony, i can tell you here in montgomery county the traffic signals are the big issue with the power outages along rockville pike most of the traffic signals this morning have been out and where we are here at nicholson lane and rockville pike, we actually have officers who are here directing traffic right now, there's about 270 traffic signals that are out at this point in montgomery county. now, these officers arrived when they heard about the fact that there was a random citizen. if you take a look at the video, there was a random citizen who showed up here earlier directing traffic and he showed up right after a small fender bender took place at this intersection. of course with it being a four way stop, not everybody was heeding that and there happened to be a fender bender at that point. he was out here during that time until officers arrived, showed up and then they star

widely felt. we had people, viewers in southern maryland that felt this earthquake. >> tucker, let me ask you a question. i will tell you that this is an uneducated question because we didn't have the earthquake drills and all that when you say the epicenter, when we see it right there at the copper road and montgomery, does that mean exactly where it was the strongest? what does that mean exactly? >> that's where the actual rupture took place with the plates on the earth. so it's either what we call a slip fault. there are various types of faults. that's the epicenter. depending how deep it is, we haven't determined how deep it is, that will determine how widely felt it is. here in washington we felt it and we're some distance away. it's lucky it was a rather shallow earthquake. >> we haven't had any reports of damage across the area. if we felt it that strongly here and that's the epicenter, imagine what a like, you know, a 6 feels like. >> well, i was -- in 1989 in san francisco, it was a 6.9. i have to tell you it was an experience like none other. i could see the earth, i could s
